Bedquilts and other larger quilts

The latest sewn will apper on top of this page for a while befor I put it down on it's right place.

This is a birthday present for my sister for her 40:th birthday in may 2008. It is a picnic quilt. The size is 145 cm by 145 cm.
I could not resist the picnick ants. Made it in an organiced chaos, like ants live their lives.
Quilted in the ditch and machine embroidered ants on parade.
So now she have a nice quilt to take to picnick or to the beach.

This is a bedsized quilt for my hubby.
It was a gift for his 40:th birthday in sepember 2002.
I hide it from him until the front side was ready and it was time to put the layers together.
He saw it befor his birthday but I know he is impressed of my work.
He know that quilting takes time. Motfis on fabric, fishing lures and flyes.

The second large quilt I did was for my daughter Elin.
It took some time thou.
I have quilted it by hand and that takes much, much more time than I expected... (2004)
Elin is so glad for this quilt and she knows it is made with lots of love.
I have quilted wolfes in the light blue squares exept for two were I have quilted a flower design that is from the Cree culture(that is what I learnd from a book, Native American Designs for Quilting by Dr Joyce Mori) I hope she is right about that.

The third one is my own quilt.
This is my own bedquilt to sleep under.
I have quilted it with sewingmachine and I liked to freehand quilt.
Not easy to get the hang of it but so fun when I did figure it out.
Middle section is with quiltrelated motifs and the outer bordes is fabric with quiltrulers.

In the summer 2007 I made this fast and easy quilt.
I wanted an extra quilt for our caravan. A quilt that we can have on picnics or sleep under.
flipflop shoes, dolphins and sharks.... sounds like summer to me...

Quilts are made to be used. When they worn out I make new ones.

I have two more quilts to do one for Daniel and one for Robin.
I am still collecting fabrics for those quilts.
Daniels quilt will be with cars and other motor related motifs.
For Robin it will have a musical theme.
Everyone gets a quilt that are special.
